What am I up to?

Now

With a hyper-curious mind, there are always many, many, many things in the ‘now’ for me. I call these ‘open loops’. To spare you the long list, I’ll share just a few of the most important parts.

Enjoying

  • My new Kindle and the ultra-customisable KOReader app that I (secretly) installed on it. I love anything that allows me to tailor my experience perfectly to my needs and this is no exception. It requires a little coding knowledge but that’s part of the fun!

  • My Traveler’s Notebooks (passport and regular) for journalling, common-placing, mind-mapping, habit-tracking and anything else I can think to do with them

  • The beauty of where I live

Building

  • The habit of writing

  • My More Mindful Life philosophy

  • A way to get my Kindle highlights into Obsidian automatically, in the format I want, to then email me a random highlight every day

Pondering

  • Why does the Sora 2 app exist?

Reading

  • Designing Your Life by Bill Burnet and Dave Evans

    • This has been a really interesting read so far as a lot of their methods are variations of things I currently do in my life.

Then

  • 2025: Officially launched More Mindful Life

  • 2024: Relaunched my web design business as For the Do—Gooders

  • 2022: Started a business with my brother

  • 2022: Started a business with a close friend

  • 2019: Officially started my web design business

  • 2016: Moved to Australia

  • 2015: Got a job as a Graphic Designer (my first big dream in life)

  • 2012: Started working as a freelance graphic designer

  • 2010: Got my first job as a Visual Merchandiser

  • 2010: Chose not to go to university (now or ever)

Always

  • Thinking deeply

  • Learning new things

  • Appreciating the simple things in life

  • Trying my best

  • Asking questions

  • Solving problems

  • Helping friends and family with their tech issues

  • Enjoying windows into other people’s worlds and minds

About this page

This page is about what I’m doing now, then and always and is updated now and then. I created it from a desire to make a more human internet where we can feel connected to ‘strangers’ more intimately and enjoy our shared humanity.

I first came across this idea during one of my many internet rabbit-holes and I believe the original creator of this idea was Derek Sivers — so all credits go to him. My version differs slightly from the original but that’s the beauty of having your own website — you get to do what you want! (Expression is core part of my web design philosophy).
